Earth Day and the Humble Grapefruit
It wasn’t until I had a complete body-mind breakdown decades ago that I learned the hard way that “you are not a Toyota”, a body to be driven like a machine in the pursuit of success.
Today I assist other body-owners in my practice expand their definition of success to include physical vitality, a prerequisite for emotional and mental excellence.
On this Earth Day I offer you this amazing picture of the DNA of a grapefruit.
If the humble grapefruit is this astonishing, imagine how spectacular YOU are--a unique, individual Life Form...living, breathing, moving through your day within your own private eco-system.
It blows my mind to consider how magnificent the physical universe is. Today I encourage you to upgrade your caring for your own personal Mother Earth.
There are 3 qualities that my teachers, who are models of total success, have in common. You might choose one, or even two, to add to your personal practices. Each of them have achieved the success I strive for: experiencing themselves every day with a vital feeling of aliveness.
1. They don’t rush. They move in synch with the inner physical rhythms that enables them to be in harmony with the outer world. They all “set” themselves in the morning and claim their day.
2. They eat clean. Paleo, vegan, whatever. What they put in their mouth is nutrient-dense, including, of course, Dark Chocolate, an essential food group.
3. When they get a bug, are overtired or injured, they don’t just suppress their symptoms; they treat appropriately, AND recognize that their Mother is smarter than they are (many mothers are, of course) and in her wisdom and intelligence has given them data that might require an adjustment.
